"Goodwill Hunting"

Our "GOODWILL" page is growing by leaps and bounds!
Bless all who took the time to write!

"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
~Revelation 22:19

Compromise is one of the oldest concepts in recorded history.
The serpent got Adam and Eve to compromise the Word of God in the Garden.
The Devil tempted Christ to compromise the Word of God in the Wilderness.
Everyday you and I are asked to compromise our identity and faith.
The world says, "just go along to get along."

We are warned over and over again not to fail!

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. "
~Romans 12:2

My prayer for you reading this:

"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."
~Ephesians 6:13

"Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."
~Mark 8:38

There is a current trend in corporate marketing to come up with nick-names for their business'. Radio Shack is now "The Shack". "Kentucky Fried Chicken" is now just "KFC". Even Pizza Hut has abbreviated themselves to "The Hut".

But whether this is a divination of spirits via the Holy Spirit, or just my old Spidey-Sense tingling, something is wrong with a formerly Christian relief group dropping the name above all names from their brand in order to raise funds more easily without "offending" anyone in the process.

I'm offended. How about you?

"Unto Us a Child is Born"

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
~Isaiah 9:6

The Nativity manger scene surrounding the birth of the Christ child has been only secondary in popularity to painters thru the centuries. I believe the Crucifixion and Annunciation to Mary are at the top. The Masters frequently employed a personal testimony in their work. Rembrandt painted himself as one of the Roman soldiers at the foot of the cross. Modern filmmaker Mel Gibson took it a grisly step further in his "Passion of The Christ" by actually hammering the nails into Jesus himself.

I have never had the self-image of these characters, not of the Three Wise Men or Magi. I have always felt like the poor drummer boy; a one trick pony of sorts, drawing my little pictures. It's all I can do.

"It's a Wonderful Life"

"You see George, you've really had a wonderful life. Don't you see what a mistake it would be to just throw it away?"
~Clarence the Angel

The Holy Bible tells of a wrestling event between an angel and a man. It is an uneven match choreographed to teach a lesson - to the man.

I have had several cage matches with a darker angel, one that periodically tempts me to "just throw it (my life) away. So you will not be surprised to hear Frank Capra's 1946 holiday masterpiece, "It's a Wonderful Life" has been a lifelong favorite of mine.
And that each year that goes by, it finds deeper and deeper meaning in the recesses of my mind and heart.

The briefest - and to me the most profound - scene is the beginning sequence between a greater and lesser star; Franklin and Joseph, as they respond to a cloud of prayers rising to heaven on behalf of George Bailey...

"The Nativity of our Lord"

Commonly referred to as "Christmas."

"And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."
~Luke 2:9-11

Listen up - I've got good news about a great deal...

"O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever."
~Psalm 107:1

For centuries mankind has set aside special days for thanks-giving.
Both European believers as well as New World natives were driven to give thanks to God for the bountiful harvests they enjoyed.
What is written in the heart of Christian and heathen alike to perform organized gratitude to our Deity, family and friends?

My own gratitude is summed up like this; "It's not how much you have - it's who you have to share it with."

"That Famous Soup Can"

"Art is what you can get away with."
— Andy Warhol

How's that for integrity? The Art world has been irreparably damaged by the conceit of the Pop movement. The sheer facetiousness of the idea makes the mind reel.
And yet, the pure corruption of such a world view has changed that culture forever.

The same goes for false science. "From goo to you in millions of years" is the party line. The "scientific" idea that everything (including you and me) came from nothing, all by accident is just as facetious and corrupt as those pulling the leg on the art world.

Andy loved to make fun of people and get paid for it.
It is the one thing we have in common.
I think the turn-about here is fair play.

"Earth Day"

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
~Genesis 1:1

I don't know how Earth Day became a modern pagan holiday.
God created Earth Day.

"The Days of Noah"

"But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."
~Matthew 24:37-39

This is one of the most intriguing prophecies of the end times to me.
"The days of Noah".
Was it just the day-to-day circle of life going on?
Was it the perversion of marriage we see now?
Was it the fact that the Arc itself was a focus of scorn like those replicas now being built in the US and the Netherlands?
Or was it the planet on the tipping point of global climate change?
(Noah's claim of the coming storm earned him his own ridicule.)

Either way, it's a checklist that has been completed!

"The Great Pumpkin?"

"The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined."
~Isaiah 9:2

Charles Schulz genius lay in his ability to lampoon the twin sacred cows of politics and religion with the same gentle pen he used to mirror the rest of our culture.

If you recall the original story lines, The Great Pumpkin searches for a "sincere" pumpkin patch in which to make his appearance on All Hallows Eve: Halloween.

Your eternal destiny is not dependent on your sincerity - it is dependent on what you believe in; and if you believe in Christ - which Christ have you placed your faith in? Is it the one who created the heavens and the earth in 6 days - perfect without sin, suffering or death?

Or do you believe in a smaller god - one that used millions and billions of years of suffering and death to bring about the first Adam?
